Rock Painting: Dotting a Mandala

With kind permission from the very talented Safya Omarjee, we’ve uploaded this lovely rock painting video on how to dot a mandala. You can set the video at a slower pace and pause where needed, when dotting your own Mandala.

Your rock should be rounded, flat and smooth for dotting, and painting a smooth undercoat of a darker colour to cover the rock background beforehand, will help to show up the colour dots.

Knowing what colour combinations to use can be tricky, here’s a link to a site called Colour Hunt, which has some beautiful combinations.

Rock Paints are perfect for dotting straight out of the pot and you can purchase all you need from this site:
Rocks
Paints
Dotting tools
Mandala stencil guides
Varnish

Safya is a master dotter and her work is truly beautiful, please follow her Instagram account at this link.
