Varnish

This water based varnish is water resistant and waterproof but has not  been tested under conditions of submerging in water for long periods of time. No solvents are used in the product and it contains a synthetic resin. This makes the varnish more environmentally friendly than the solvent base varnishes. This varnish is non-toxic.

Clean brushes with water straight after use and close the lid between layers of varnish. Apply thinly and allow four hours of drying time between each layer.

This varnish is ideal for applying to blank rocks to bring out their beautiful natural colour and markings before painting. (Especially when leaving part of the rock exposed as part of the design). Once you have finished painting your rock and your paint is dry, you can seal your rock by applying 2 to 3 layers of varnish. Also good to varnish your labels once stuck onto your rock, using the same method (3 layers).
