“I really enjoyed painting these beautiful wide-eyed sisters. Something I love to do in my painting process is to pick the perfect rock for the subject, and sometimes like in this case it looks like the rock was made for the picture! This rock is bigger on the left side and smaller on the right side framing the sisters perfectly, it’s also a very dark black rock which I find perfect for monochrome paintings (it’s quite rounded so difficult to photograph).
