Painted Avocado Rocks

Step by step photos on how to paint a Avocado on a rock.

Sometimes we’re lucky enough to discover avocado shaped rocks. If you have one or two, follow these steps to create your own delicious avocado. You’ll need Lily White, Apple Green, Lemon Yellow, Chocolate brown, Jet Black and Olive green paints. To order paints online, click here.

Painted avocado rocks step 01 — Step one Use Lily White paint to paint the inside area of the avo

Painted avocado rocks step 02 — Step two Once white layer is dry, paint a layer of Apple Green mixed with a little Lily White

Painted avocado rocks step 03 — Step three Mix a little Lemon Yellow with the green & white mix to paint the inside area of the avocado

Painted avocado rocks step 04 — Step four Once dry, mark the circular pip area with a pencil. It doesn’t have to be 100% circular but you can also trace around a coin if unsure

Painted avocado rocks step 05 — Step five Use Chocolate Brown to paint the pip. You may need 2 layers of paint to get a nice rich coverage. Allow the first layer to dry before painting the second

Painted avocado rocks step 06 — Step six Use a little Jet Black to create a darker area (moulding) on the bottom left area of the pip, blend it into the brown

Painted avocado rocks step 07 — Step seven Add a white highlight on the opposite area of the pip (top right) and blend a little with brown to create a haze. Finish off with a white dot. Start painting the dark green edge using Olive Green. Allow the green paint to overlap onto the light green area in a fine line

Painted avocado rocks step 08 — Step eight Paint the backs of the avocado with Olive Green. One layer should be enough to create a natural texture
